Tamil Genocide Memorial
We are honoured to have your presence at this site. The vision of the Tamil Genocide Memorial is to become the leading landmark in the world to inform and educate the public about the several decades long terror regimes against the minority Tamils by the Sinhalese governments in Sri Lanka. The memorial will provide ample opportunities for our future generations for research and development towards political tolerance and peace while encourage them to stand up against injustice. The memorial is designed to honour the countless victims of Tamil genocide that was committed in Sri Lanka.
Project Phases
Design competition
Phase 1: We conducted an international design competition to select top designs. With a help of 15- member international expert panel, we short listed and selected our final design with several modifications to reflect our painful past. The original design was submitted by Bosnian based architect.
City approval
Phase 1:Phase 2: The City of Brampton supported our efforts to build the Genocide memorial at the renowned Chinguacousy Park in Brampton. The land has been allocated by the city administrators and all necessary pre-approvals have been granted.
Pre-constructionn
Phase 1:Phase 3: Preliminary pre-construction work has been slotted to happen in Phase 3. The work involved in ground preparation, selection of material fabricators and short-listing of constructing firms will be conducted in this phase
Construction
Phase 1: Phase 4: Once all preliminary work is completed, the final ground construction and monument installation and landscaping will be carried out in this phase.

Jury Selected Winning Design
ARCHITECTURE COMPETITION JURY DECISION
The organizing committee for Tamil Genocide Memorial Monument worked with Bee Breeders, an architecture competition organizer to come up with unique designs for a memorial monument. Bee Breeders is a well- recognized international organization with access to a global community of more than 100,000 designers and architectural talent. Design proposals were accepted from individuals as well as from teams.
